<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately obtaining a deterioration state and a consumption state of developer, preventing unnecessary abrasion of an image carrier, and improving primary transferability of a toner image from the image carrier to an intermediate transfer body and suppressing retransfer through the life. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises detection means 50 for detecting the life of developing means 4, and makes the relative speed of an image carrier 1 and an intermediate transfer body 6 increase depending on the detection result of the detection means 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
