<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a solid state imaging device capable of outputting a pixel signal having a high compression rate while suppressing deterioration of the S/N of the pixel signal and deterioration of resolution and image quality of an outline caused by a noise component such as smear with no increase in the number of terminals. <P>SOLUTION: A method of driving a solid state imaging device having a color filter in which colors are arranged by the predetermined repeating unit includes: a same color addition step in which signal charges read out from receivers under color filters of the same color are made to be mixed when the signal charges are read out from a plurality of receivers to a vertical transfer part; a different color mixture step in which signal charges read out from receivers under color filters of different colors are mixed; and a step in which a same color addition signal (first and third lines) obtained by the mixing in the same color addition step is output from a horizontal transfer part 120, and a different color mixture signal (second and fourth lines) obtained by the mixing in the different color mixture step is swept away. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
