<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motherboard and a server. <P>SOLUTION: A motherboard comprises: a switching circuit; an SATA connector; a first SAS connector; and a connector connected to an SAS card equipped with a second SAS connector. The switching circuit is connected to the SATA connector and the first SAS connector. The first SAS connector is connected to the second SAS connector. When the switching circuit receives an SATA signal, a connection between the switching circuit and the first SAS connector is disconnected. The motherboard communicates with an SATA hard disk drive through the switching circuit and the SATA connector. When the switching circuit receives an SAS signal, a connection between the switching circuit and the first SAS connector is established.
