SUBSEA DATA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

A subsea data communication system and a method of performing a data communication between a topside control system and a subsea installation are provided. The topside control system comprises a topside low frequency modem adapted to perform a data communication in a first frequency range, and the subsea installation comprises as subsea low frequency modem adapted to perform a data communication in the first frequency range. The topside low frequency modem is coupled to a subsea low frequency modem by a data transmission line of an umbilical which connects the topside control system to the subsea installation.
