The engine (1) has a main motor (2) comprising a crankshaft (4), and an auxiliary motor (3) comprising a crankshaft (5), where the crankshafts are positively coupled with each other at a phase angle of 360 degree using a hydraulic actuator device (11) of a synchronous clutch (8). The crankshafts are synchronized during coupling of the motors via act of intervention kinematic of a phase sensor (15) arranged at cam shafts (16, 17) of the motors on the actuator device to arrange all cylinders of the motors in the crankshafts in a defined firing order at another phase angle of 720 degree. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a four-cycle combustion engine.
