<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone set capable of accurately monitoring the state of an identified object person. <P>SOLUTION: A telephone set having a monitoring function of acquiring biological information of an object person and monitoring the state of the object person includes: a personal information storage part 19 for storing personal information to identify the object person; a contact destination storage part 34 for storing the contact destination of the object person to be identified by the personal information; acquisition means 43 for acquiring biological information; an abnormality existence determination part 23 for determining whether or not an abnormality exists in the acquired biological information of the object person; and biological information identification means 45 for associating the biological information acquired by the acquisition means with the personal information of the object person of the biological information.
