<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a circuit scale. <P>SOLUTION: A reception device of one aspect of the present technique includes: a demapping part for receiving a symbol signal generated by mapping a first branch signal and a second branch signal, which express the information of the same transmission object, and demapping the symbol signal by hard determination; a selection part for selecting one of the first branch signal and the second branch signal obtained by the demapping according to reception states; and a decoding part for decoding the information of the transmission object on the basis of the one signal.
