<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical circuit, which combines an optical element and a waveguide via a 45 degree mirror, and which has a structure satisfying all of reduction of the number of components, mounting at low cost, shortening of the distance between a surface type optical element and a waveguide, reproductivity of coupling efficiency, high peel strength of the surface type optical element, and excellent electrical characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical circuit which combines a polymer waveguide and a surface type optical element via a 45 degree mirror, the 45 degree mirror is configured by a part of an electric wiring substrate, a part of the surface type optical element and the electric wiring substrate are bonded together via a solder or a bump, a core layer surface of the polymer waveguide and the surface of the electric wiring substrate are aligned in height, and an air layer is formed between the core layer of the polymer waveguide and the optical element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
