<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a copolymer having a high molecular weight with high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing a copolymer, monomer components including an aromatic vinyl monomer, a vinyl cyanide monomer, and other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with the monomers described above as necessary are copolymerized to obtain a copolymer having a peak molecular weight of ≥1,000,000. The production method is characterized in that a polymerization initiator in the amount of 0.01-0.15 pt.wt. is used on the basis of the monomer components of 100 pts.wt., that polymerization is carried out by adding the monomer components and an emulsifier continuously over 2-6 hours, and that coagulum contained in the obtained copolymer latex is ≤0.5 wt.% in terms of the solid content of the copolymer latex. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
