IMAGE CARRIER CLEANING MEMBER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an always excellent image product without the occurrence of image deletion not depending on a charging method or types of paper to be used even when a photoreceptor with high durability is employed.

SOLUTION: An elastic cleaning member includes a polishing member at a portion where the elastic cleaning member approaches closer to a surface of an image carrier when the elastic cleaning member itself elastically deforms by sensing the change in the coefficient of dynamic friction with the surface of the image carrier. The polishing member contacts a surface of a substrate only when the change in the coefficient of dynamic friction exceeds the specific value.
