<p>Disclosed is a battery can for a storage battery, provided with a safety valve having respectively a first score groove section and a second score groove section of the inside face and outside face of the can bottom, can body or can lid. The first score groove section and the second score groove section face each other. The first score groove section and the second score groove section are provided with the first score groove bottom section and the second score groove bottom section, respectively having a radius of curvature R. The radius of curvature R is more than 0.20 mm and less than 1.20 mm. The distance between the first score groove bottom section and the second score groove bottom section is 0.045 to 0.150 mm. The can bottom, the can body or the can lid provided with the aforementioned safety valve are formed of plated steel sheet having a steel sheet section of C content less than 0.040 mass %, S content less than 0.020 mass %, and tensile strength TS restricted to less than 400 MPa and a plating layer of the surface of this steel sheet section.</p> |
