The telescopic type high speed stereomicroscope has two beam paths (60L,60R) comprising insight units (4L,4R) and telescope systems (3L,3R) respectively. The magnification factors of both telescope systems are approximately equal or synchronously variable. A common main objective (CMO) lens (2) is associated with two beam paths. The entrance pupil (32R) of telescope system (3R) is larger than entrance pupil (32L) of telescope system (3L) such that entrance pupil (32L) is completely or partially enclosed by entrance pupil (32R).
