<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability in a hydraulic valve timing adjusting device. <P>SOLUTION: This device 1 includes: a cylindrical housing 10 rotating in the peripheral direction; a vane rotor 20 having a rotary shaft 200 rotating in the peripheral direction and a vane 202 projecting to the outer peripheral side from the rotary shaft 200, stored in the housing 10, forming operation chambers 42 and 43 on both sides in the peripheral direction of the vane 202 and relatively rotating to the housing 10 by going in and out of an internal combustion engine lubricating hydraulic fluid to the respective operation chambers 42 and 43; and a seal member 500 arranged on an outer peripheral end surface 202a of the vane 202 and sealing between the operation chambers 42 and 43 on both sides of the vane 202 by contacting along the axial direction with an inner peripheral wall surface 120a of the housing 10. The device 1 includes recessed parts 504 and 505 opening toward a clearance 46 between the outer peripheral end surface 202a of the vane 202 and the inner peripheral wall surface 120a of the housing 10, on both sides in the peripheral direction of the seal member 500. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
