<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can correct the skew of a sheet while preventing the deterioration of sheet conveying accuracy caused by the application of tension to the sheet, and to provide a method for controlling the same. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a sheet feed motor 19 for driving and rotating a roll of paper composed of paper rolled up in the shape of a roll; a conveying roller for conveying a sheet pulled out from the roll of paper in a predetermined direction; a conveying motor 24 for driving and rotating the conveying roller; a motor control section 100 for controlling the drive of the sheet feed motor 19 and the conveying motor 24; and a skew detector 13 for detecting an amount of a skew relative to the predetermined direction of the sheet conveyed by the conveying roller. The motor control section 100 controls, based on the amount of skew detected by the skew detector 13, the drive of at least one of the sheet feed motor 19 and the conveying motor 24 to adjust tension applied between the conveying roller and the roll of paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
