The retractor (10) has attachment parts e.g. tensioner housing (26) and reinforcing plate, for providing determined functionality of the retractor, where the attachment parts are formed as housing portions. One of the attachment parts is attached to a retractor frame (12) using the other attachment part. The former attachment part has a retaining projection (32), which is engaged with a fixing aperture in a mounted state of the retractor. The retractor frame has a retaining projection (30), which engages together with the projection of the former attachment part with the aperture. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a belt retractor for a safety belt system.
