The method involves using change of sensor measurement values as a measurement of a moisture content by electrical conductors (19, 20), where the change is caused by moisture. The electrical conductors are arranged outside a gas flow channel (13) and integrated in an electrical circuit in form of a sensor (17). The sensor is designed as a capacitor (18) i.e. plate-type capacitor, where a measuring film (22) acts as the capacitor. A change of a capacitance is used as the measurement of the moisture content. Self-testing of the capacitor is laterally limitingly carried out by a dielectric. An independent claim is also included for a gas flow channel.
