The device (1) has an ultra-wideband (UWB) sensors (5, 6) for detecting foreign matters in a product (2), where the UWB sensors are directed towards the product during a metering process and/or after a packaging process of the product in a package (3). The sensors are arranged in a metering device (4) i.e. auger filler. A scale is provided for weighing the package of the packaged product, and the sensors are integrated into the scale. A segregation unit segregates the package of the packaged product with foreign matters. An independent claim is also included for a method for metering and/or packaging products.
