<p>Provided is a stereo headphone device capable of determining into which ear each of left and right headphone units is fitted. The stereo headphone device is either an inner-ear type in which the headphone unit is worn on an auricle of a user or a canal type in which the headphone unit is inserted into an external auditory canal of the user. The stereo headphone device comprises: two headphone units each of which has a built-in driver unit; a sensor provided in at least one of the two headphone units, the sensor being disposed at a position at which the auricle is detected if the headphone unit is fitted to the ear on a predetermined side and at which the auricle is not detected if the headphone unit is fitted to the ear on the other side; and a signal switching means that determines, on the basis of a detection signal from the sensor, to which driver unit each of left and right audio signals is to be output.</p> |
