<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation instruction device which enables a user to easily grasp the user's use history of a connected processing device. <P>SOLUTION: An operation instruction device is connected with a processing device, and comprises a display device, input means for receiving input by a user, authentication means for executing processing for authenticating the user who has performed the input, and saving means for saving use histories of respective users. On receiving utilization start input by a user, the operation instruction device reads out use histories from the saving means, and if the use histories includes information about the user, the operation instruction device gives authentication permission to the user.
