<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus with improved focus adjustment accuracy when a state of an optical system varies. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging element for outputting an imaging signal and a focus detection signal for every prescribed cycle by receiving a flux from the optical system; first storing means for storing a prescribed number of focus detection signals which are outputted for every prescribed period from the imaging element; adding means for adding the focus detection signal to the focus detection signals other than the focus detection signal which are stored in the first storing means according to an output of the focus detection signal by the imaging element; focus detection means for detecting the focus state of the optical system on the basis of one of the focus detection signals stored in the first storing means; and detection means for detecting the prescribed variation state of the optical system. In this case, the focus detection means detects the focus state of the optical system on the basis of the focus detection signal to which the focus detection signal which is outputted by the imaging element before detection of the variation in the state is not added, among the focus detection signals stored in the storing means when a variation in the state is detected by the detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
