<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deposition of combustion product on the wall surface of the nozzle hole of a fuel injection valve, and also promote the peeling of combustion product even if the combustion product is deposited on the wall surface of the nozzle hole of the fuel injection valve. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel injection valve 22 of an internal combustion engine includes at least one fuel injection hole 34. The fuel injection valve includes a nozzle 30 having a hollow therein, and a needle 31 movably stored in the hollow of the nozzle. A groove 50 or a projection which forms the flow of a fuel flowing to the inlet of the fuel injection hole while turning around the tip portion of the needle with the center axis of the needle as the center axis is provided to the outer wall surface of the tip portion of the needle.
