The method involves receiving a transponder signal from an antenna (3) in a storage system i.e. pallet rack (1), and assigning pitch to the received signal prior to locating UHF transponders in the pallet rack equipped with a reading device (5). Location of each transponder is determined from the transponder signal, and probabilities of location of pallets (2) are calculated based on the location of the transponders, where information is provided about the location of the pallet having highest probability. An independent claim is also included for a location system for localization of pallets on storage positions of a pallet rack.
