<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an abnormal discharge of a discharge load precisely at a high speed with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A power supply device comprises: a converter 20; an LC resonance circuit 30; a CT 59; and an abnormal discharge detection circuit 60. The converter 20 converts a DC input voltage to a DC voltage of a certain level by switching the DC input voltage, and outputs a DC output voltage. The LC resonance circuit 30 inputs an output voltage of the converter 20, and supplies the output voltage to a discharge load 40. The LC resonance circuit 30 also generates a resonance current upon occurrence of an abnormal discharge in the discharge load 40, and applies a reverse voltage to the discharge load 40. The CT 59 outputs a current detection result by detecting an AC component of the resonance current. Further, the abnormal discharge detection circuit 60 converts the current detection result to a voltage level, and detects the number of occurrences of the abnormal discharge by counting the number of occasions where the converted voltage level exceeds a threshold value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
