<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of preventing external light entered into a device from reaching to reading means without using a high member such as a light-shielding wall. <P>SOLUTION: On an inner bottom surface of a housing 21 of a scanner main body part 5 accommodating an image sensor 15 is provided with an external light reduction part 23. The external light reduction part 23 is integrally formed on the inner bottom surface of the housing 21. A plurality of grooves extending in the front-and-rear direction are formed on the inner bottom surface of the housing 21 resulting in the external light reduction part 23 with a saw-tooth cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the front-and-rear direction. With such the external light reduction part 23, when external light entered from a second transparent part 13b is irradiated on the inner bottom surface of the housing 21 of the scanner main body part 5, the light is reflected in a different direction from the image sensor 15 side by the external light reduction part 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
