<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detection apparatus which reduces the possibility of failure, is unlikely to limit the size of a tank and is capable of further preventing a liquid in the tank from being leaked outside of the tank. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid level detection apparatus 1 comprises a tank 10, a float 20, a guide rail 30, magnetic sensors 41 and 42, and a liquid level detection section 52. The tank 10 stores therein a liquid F. The float 20 vertically moves in accordance with a liquid level inside the tank 10, comprises a through hole 21 which is vertically passed through approximately the center of a main body and includes a magnet 22. The guide rail 30 is inserted to the through hole 21 of the float 20, guides vertical move of the float 20 and includes a hollow portion which is not communicated with the inside of the tank 10 but is communicated with the outside of the tank 10. The magnetic sensors 41 and 42 are provided in the hollow portion of the guide rail 30, for performing magneto-electric conversion on a magnetic flux density and outputting the result.
