<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection piece for enabling more reliable detection using a sensor even when it is displaced from an original mounting position, and to provide a variable valve train of an internal combustion engine including the detection piece. <P>SOLUTION: A valve characteristic of an engine valve is varied by an axial movement of a control shaft. On the outer peripheral surface of the control shaft, a target 30 for detecting the axial movement of the control shaft by the sensor is arranged. The target 30 includes a facing surface 30a facing the sensor, and a distance from the central shaft SS of the shaft to the facing surface 30a is made longer in the end of the facing surface 30a than in the central part thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
