<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive support device and a drive support method that improve safety in an environment in which a vehicle actually travels. <P>SOLUTION: In a drive support device 10 including an ECU 16 and a danger notification device 18 which gives notice of an object A to a driver of a local vehicle VM in predetermined timing, the ECU 16 quickens the timing of giving the notice of the object A when an object B lower in degree of danger than the object A is present between the object A and the local vehicle VM and the distance between the object A and the object B in timing of notification of the object A is equal to or less than a predetermined distance. Consequently, notice of the object B low in degree of danger can be given at the same time with the object A high in degree of danger, and the driver is prevented from having his or her attention caught by the object A and paying less attention to the object B, so that the safety is increased. The timing of notification is quickened when the distance between the object A and the object B is short, so that the driver is made to understand notice of successive dangers to have less troublesomeness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
