<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly suppress an excessive pixel bright spot in configuration using a micro-lens array. <P>SOLUTION: An optical element comprises a first and a second micro-lens array parts in which a plurality of micro-lenses is respectively arranged. The first and the second micro-lens array parts are oppositely arranged at a position spaced from each other by distance which is longer than focal distance of a micro-lens arranged on the first micro-lens array part. The first micro-lens array part is arranged at a light incident side for the second micro-lens array part. Also, the optical element is configured such that an interval between the micro-lenses arranged in the first micro-lens array part is narrower than an interval between the micro-lenses arranged in the second micro-lens array part.
