<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement higher-performance pattern recognition while suppressing a processing load. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises region setting means which sets a plurality of partial regions to features of an image extracted by feature extracting means, partial space holding means which holds a partial space for each partial region, partial space projecting means which generates a plurality of feature vectors from the plurality of partial regions set by the region setting means, projects the generated feature vectors into the partial spaces held by the partial space holding means and generates a plurality of projection vectors, selection means which selects a projection vector corresponding to each partial region from among the plurality of projection vectors generated by the partial space projection means, feature generating means which generates an identification feature by connecting the projection vectors selected by the selection means, and identification processing means which performs identification processing using the identification feature generated by the feature generation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
