摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus of an internal combustion engine that is able to form a homogeneous air-fuel mixture. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: a fuel injection valve for directly injecting fuel into a cylinder of the internal combustion engine; a variable valve timing mechanism for adjusting an valve-opening timing of an intake valve of the internal combustion engine so as to be variable; a swirl flow control valve installed on one side of the intake port to form a swirl flow in the cylinder of the internal combustion engine; an intake flow velocity calculation device for calculating flow velocity of intake air passing through the intake valve of the internal combustion engine; a spray-deflection-degree estimation device for estimating a degree in which fuel spray immediately after the fuel injection is flown and deflected by channeling of an intake flow, according to the flow velocity of intake air, when the swirl flow is controlled by the swirl flow control valve and the fuel is injected while the intake valve is open; and an intake-valve opening-timing correction device for correcting the valve-opening timing of the intake valve to a retard, according to the estimated spray deflection degree. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
