The method involves assigning a binary address to an addressing of slaves. A multi-addressing of the two slaves is recognized by a monitoring device. A switching or warning signal is released during overlapping of response signals of the two slaves. A recognition logic is arranged in the slaves, where the multi-addressing is recognized by the recognition logic. Transmission of one of the slaves to a master is stopped within an arbitrary preset time. A counter is associated to the slaves, where a number of calls of the master to the slaves is counted by the counter. An independent claim is also included for an actuator sensor (AS) interface network.
