METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ACQUIRING AVAILABILITY STATE OF TERMINAL

Disclosed are a method and device for acquiring an availability state of a terminal. The method comprises: a network side node transmitting to a policy and charging rule function (PCRF) a query request message, the query request message carrying therein a terminal identifier, and specifying that the content-to-be-queried is the availability state information of the terminal; the network side node receiving the query response message returned by the PCRF, the query response message carrying therein the availability state information queried by the PCRF on the basis of the terminal identifier; and the network side node determining via the availability state information the availability state of the terminal. In embodiments of the present invention, by acquiring via the PCRF the availability state information of an MTC terminal, and by determining the availability state of the terminal on the basis of the availability state information, the availability state can be acquired accurately without having to modify existing protocol procedure.
