A convergence service control system for convergence service control between heterogeneous services in a communication network and a method thereof are provided to offer a convergence service to a user, who owns one or more heterogeneous terminals and is affiliated with one or more services, in a BcN(Broadband convergence Network) and an IP packet network. A convergence service control system(30) comprises a convergence information server(32), a convergence information DB(33), and a convergence service control server(31). The convergence information server collects subscriber-associated convergence information, which contains each subscriber's subscription information, session information, and application service state information, and convergence service configuration conditions. The convergence information DB stores and manages the subscriber-associated convergence information and the convergence service configuration conditions. In case a connection request for the second application service is generated while the first application service is being executed, the convergence service control server confirms the subscriber-associated convergence information and the convergence service configuration conditions, and temporarily stops executing the first application service according to a confirmed result. Then the convergence service control server triggers and executes the second application service. If a request to end the second application service is generated, the convergence service control server resumes the first application service. |
