<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent as much as possible the occurrence of deterioration in an outer peripheral end of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane extended outward from an electrode catalyst layer, with a simple and economical configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An electrolyte membrane-electrode structure 12 comprises: a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 18; and an anode-side electrode 20 and a cathode-side electrode 22 which hold the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 18 therebetween. The anode-side electrode 20 includes an electrode catalyst layer 20a and a gas diffusion layer 20b. On the other hand, the cathode-side electrode 22 includes an electrode catalyst layer 22a and a gas diffusion layer 22b. In the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 18, the Solvent 28a and solvent 28b, which are identical to solvent used during formation of the electrode catalyst layers 20a and 22a, are applied to an end surface 18ae which is exposed to the outside from an outer peripheral part of the anode-side electrode 20, and to an end surface 18be which is close to the cathode-side electrode 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
