<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface texture measuring machine with high accuracy capable of reducing contamination and damage of a stylus, a measuring arm or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In a surface texture measuring machine, a measuring arm 24 includes: a first measuring arm 24A supported by a bracket 22 in an arcuately movable manner with a rotational shaft 23 as a supporting point in a casing 28; and a second measuring arm 24B that is detachably disposed at a leading end of the first measuring arm 24A through a detachable mechanism 25 and has styli 26A and 26B at a leading end thereof. The detachable mechanism 25 is disposed in the casing 28. A displacement detector 27 for detecting an arcuate momentum of the measuring arm 24 includes: a scale 27A disposed on the measuring arm 24; and a detecting head disposed opposite to the scale 27A on the bracket 22.
