The method involves determining a tire parameter i.e. actual pressure, in a tire (2) of a vehicle wheel (3) by wheel-side sensors (1). The determined tire parameter is transferred to a control device (7) by a wireless transmission unit (6). A filling signal is emitted by the control device for filling the tire by an external tire filling apparatus (9). A relative movement is produced between the vehicle wheel and a vehicle body by an active chassis (4) when the filling signal reaches predetermined pressure e.g. minimum filling pressure and maximum pressure, in the vehicle tire.
