Operating circuit for light diodes

The operating switch has a coil (L1) that supplies a supply voltage for a light emitting diode, and a switch (S1) that is timed by a controlling unit (SR). The controlling unit determines the time duration between deactivation and activation of the switch depending on the voltage across the coil. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a lighting diode by a switching regulator circuit.
