<p>PURPOSE: A heavy metal removing or noble metal collecting method using a microbial fuel cell(MFC) is provided to efficiently remove mercury ions by forming mercury metals or mercury-containing solid precipitates. CONSTITUTION: A heavy metal removing or noble metal collecting method using an MFC includes a process in which the MFC removes heavy metals from wastewater and generates electric power using anaerobic microorganisms. The MFC includes an anode, a cathode, and a separation membrane between the electrodes. The heavy metals are based on Hg^2+, Hg^+, Co^2+, Co^3+, Cu^2+, Cu^+, Cr^6+, Cr^5+, Cr^4+, Cr^3+, Cr^2+, As^5+, As^3+, U^6+, Mn^7+, Mo^6+, or Pb^2+.</p> |
