A system 10 for handling slides comprises a housing 12 having an upper level with a first module-receiving area 24, in which is disposed a coverslipper module 30 for coverslipping thin sections on slides with a mounting medium and a cover slip, and at least a second module-receiving area 26 for receiving at least one module for handling slides, and a lower level, which is arranged below the upper level, with units usable in common by all modules in the module-receiving areas. The second module-receiving area 26 may include a second coverslipper module 32. A third module-receiving area 28 may include a quality control module 34, which may be provided for checking the quality of thin sections placed on the slides, and which may include a camera. The first and second coverslippers may use different mounting media. |
