The data storage device (1) has an electronic processing unit designed as a microcontroller (3), and a program memory (9) is provided for storing a fiscal data operation program. The memory cells of a fiscal memory (4) are non-rewritable, where the fiscal data is read by the electronic processing unit in the non-volatile memory. An interface is provided for communication with a structural unit. The microcontroller and the fiscal memory are molded into mini-housing (8) that formed by a hardened casting compound.
