<p>The inverter (26) has a rectifier unit (28) and an inverter unit (32) interconnected via a direct voltage-intermediate circuit (30). An intermediate circuit capacitance is provided by an intermediate circuit capacitor (46) in the voltage-intermediate circuit. The circuit capacitor is coupled with the rectifier unit via a switch (S2) and precharging resistors (R1) that are connected in series. The intermediate circuit includes a commutating capacitor (48), where commutation capacitance for the rectifier unit is provided by the commutating capacitor. The switch is selected from a semiconductor switch i.e. transistor such as MOSFET, silicon carbide MOSFET or insulated-gate bipolar transistor, and a thyristor such as gate turn-off thyristor, metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) control thyristor, MOS turn-off thyristor or integrated gate commutated thyristor or triac thyristor. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a frequency inverter.</p> |
