A package used for retail and mailing comprises a compressed garment in rigid tablet form 17 and a package 27 comprising first and second major faces and an edge portion e.g. side faces, an address surface being provided on the major face. The address surface may be printed on the face or may be a postcard glued to the face, inserted in a pocket 29 having a window 31, or inside a shrink-wrap film applied to the garment. A further insert 13 may be provided having retail information or providing space for a personal message. Retail information may be provided on a central band (11, Figure 1). The package may be sized to fit through a postbox. Also claimed, a package (Figure 9c) comprising a major surface opposite an open top and an edge portion, at least three flaps integral with the edge portion and foldable to cover the open top, one lying over the others in the closed configuration and being joined to the others by integral interleaved elements or gusset portions. The interleaved portions may interact such that opening the upper flap causes the other flaps to open. |
