PURPOSE: A transdermal or scalp formulation containing transferosome with lyso-phospholipid and surfactant is provided to ensure excellent ALA skin permeability and high PpIX accumulation. CONSTITUTION: A transferosome composition contains 12% or more of lyso-phospholipid and surfactant. The lyso-phospholipid is lyso-phosphocholine. The surfactant is Tween20, Tween 60, Brij 72, Brij 76, or Brij 78. The side of the trasnferosome is 50-200 nm. A transdermal and scalp formulation contains the transferosome composition and a drug. The drug is 5-aminolevulinic acid, vitamin C, or a vitamin C derivative.
