PURPOSE: An eugenol derivative is provided to have higher solubility to water than eugenol, to have stronger sterilization and antifungal activity, to have antiseptic effect and to reduce toxicity. CONSTITUTION: An eugenol derivative is represented by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, The eugenol derivative is obtained by reacting edugenol with strong base, and reacting the outcome with epihalohydrin or ethylene oxide per specific content and hydrolyzing outcome by acid or base. The sterilizer contains the eugenol derivative.
