<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a filtration area including valley regions of pleat shape in a filter. <P>SOLUTION: The filter 10 includes a filter medium 12 of pleat shape, and a filter frame 14 fixing the filter medium 12 inside. Retainers 16 for holding the pleat shape are bonded to the filter medium 12. Each retainer 16 is provided only in an air inflow side valley part 20 of the pleated filter medium 12 perpendicularly to the fold of the pleat.
