PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in a carbon aggregate molded article which is made to be dielectrically heatable by calcining a molded article produced by shaping a molding material which is a composite of the molding material and of an uncured phenol resin containing a high concentration of graphite grain via heating and pressure molding in a die, in an oxygen-free high-temperature atmosphere, strain remains in the molded article due to excessive discharge pressure in the vicinity of a gate and a sudden change of a flow passage, and as a result, minute cracks occur in the resin part in the calcination step, and resistance to impact stress due to a falling ball etc. is remarkably lowered.
SOLUTION: A method for modifying a surface of a carbon sintered body includes a step to impregnate a silicon compound into a portion corresponding to the gate existing in the bottom face center of a pan-shaped molded article of the carbon aggregate which includes the graphite grain with carbon originating from phenol as a binder, and subsequently conducting heat treatment at 1,100-1,500°C in an oxygen-free atmosphere.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
