LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE AND PROJECTOR

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of preventing contamination of a liquid crystal layer or an inorganic alignment layer while improving the humidity resistance.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device 1 (100) having a liquid crystal layer 30 held between a pair of substrates 15 and 25 includes an inorganic alignment film controlling the alignment direction of a liquid crystal molecule of the liquid crystal layer 30 on each of surfaces of the pair of substrates 15 and 25 that face the liquid crystal layer 30. The pair of substrates 15 and 25 is attached to each other using a first sealing material 50 surrounding the liquid crystal layer 30 and a second sealing material 51 surrounding the periphery of the first sealing material 50. The second sealing material 51 includes a water (humidity)-curable starting agent.
