<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which enables easy and effective performance of a work to elongate an excess length part of a cable and a work to process an excess length of the cable. <P>SOLUTION: A cable heating apparatus 1 is mounted to a heating target portion 17 of a cable 16 for softening the heating target portion 17. The apparatus comprises: a body part 2 made of a material having insulation and heat insulating properties to be mounted so as to cover around the heating target portion 17 of the cable 16; a heating element 5 arranged on the inner surface of the body part 2; and an electric power source 10 to supply electric current to the heating element 5. The body part 2 is formed into a shape of a bellows pipe, a part of which is cut apart in an axial direction, and is configured to be capable of being stretched and contracted in the axial direction and being bent with the axis as a center. A temperature sensor 12 is disposed on the inner surface of the body part 2, and based on temperature data detected by the temperature sensor 12, current value supplied from the electric power source 10 to the heating element 5 is controlled by a controller 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
