<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absolute steering angle detector allowing for easy detection. <P>SOLUTION: A section in the axial direction of a rack shaft 8 is provided for each of the rotation angle section (e.g. for each 360 degree rotation) of a steering shaft. A plurality of surfaces to be detected (flat surfaces 341 to 344) having a different specification for each section in the axial direction are provided on the surface 8b of the rack shaft 8. The section in the axial direction of the rack shaft 8 (corresponding to the rotation angle section of the steering angle) is specified depending on which detection surface (flat surface 341 to 344) is detected by a distance detector 33. The rotation angle value detected by a first resolver of a torque sensor is added to the rotation angle reference value corresponding to the specified rotation angle section so as to calculate the absolute steering angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
