<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber assembly that realizes a function of shape memory by binding a higher fatty acid ester to a radical forming fiber assembly, and to provide a method for producing the fiber assembly. <P>SOLUTION: A radical forming fiber is irradiated with electron beams while bringing the radical forming fiber into contact with a 16-22C higher fatty acid ester and a cross-linking agent including 2 or more functional groups per molecule, and then the higher fatty acid ester is grafted to the fiber, and the higher fatty acid ester is cross-linked simultaneously. The fiber maintains a predetermined form by ironing to realize a shape memory property. A producing method according to the present invention is a method for producing a fiber assembly whose shape is memorized by an electron beam processing. A treating solution prepared by dissolving a 12-22C higher fatty acid ester and the cross-linking agent including 2 or more functional groups per molecule in a solvent is brought into contact with the radical forming fiber.
